Bodie is surrounded by hills and is quite a ways off of Highway 395. There were excellent clouds the day these pictures were taken!
Bodie is supposed to be kept in a static state of decay - they are trying to keep it as-is without further decay. On many buildings you can see the additional support added to help the building. I think that they are losing on this small barn! :)
